Last Saturday, 19. December 2020 Florian Neuschwander came along to do some treadmill training and a Zwift marathon on our quasar MCU6. Somehow the day turned out to be more than a simple run and Florian beat his personal best for 50km on the treadmill and - by the way - also set a new unofficial German and European record for 50km on a treadmill.
CONGRATULATIONS, FLOW!
We'd also like to share his very personal perspective on the run:
Inofficial 50 km german record and personal best in 2:51:52 hours !
Inofficial 50 km german record and personal best in 2:51:52 hours !
My plan today was to take part in the Zwift Marathon Race. After a quick 1 km warm up I started directly with 17,2 km/h (3:29 min./km). I felt pretty good and relaxed and I wanted to see how far I can go this 17,2 km/h. I passed the halfmarathon mark in 1:13:10 hours feeling really good and smooth ! I knew already that I wanted to go for a fast 50 km. My old best time (world record in February 2020 in 2:57:25 hours but broken already a couple of times) was in sight. After 30 km I still felt really fresh and quite relaxed ! I waited until 35 km and then I picked up the pace a bit. After 40 km I started to push and I passed the Marathon in 2:25:xx hours. The last 8 km I speeded up and the final kilometer was 3:01 minutes. In the end I came home with an Inofficial German record of 2:51:52 hours. Zwift showed me a 2:51:05, Garmin ans Strava nearly the same time. I ran on a exactly calibrated @hpcosmos treadmill. Got all the data from my run here and without the 1 km warm up I ran a 2:51:52 hours. So I will count this time now as my personal best ! I am really happy with my run today. Very good test !
I didn‘t expect that and I didn‘t plan that ! These are the best runs! Just lace your shoes and GO and let it FLOW !

So again: Congratulations to this great performance!
