Few weeks ago, we met Florian at the nearby interdisciplinary neurological therapy centre Zentrikum in Traunstein. In 2020, Florian was co-driver during a severe car accident that broke his neck (C5/C6). 43 weeks of hospitalisation were the consequence and left him with an incomplete paraplegia.
He never lost his positivity and has ever since been fighting back to normality. We are happy to share his story and the insights to the training of Gernot Pichler, therapeutic director at Zentrikum Traunstein. For two years, the duo has consecutively been working on Florian’s dream to maximize postural control and mobility – and to one day even get back to walking.
Florian’s therapy ranges from gait therapy with airwalk ap body weight support to stand therapy and of course stability training. To further improve Florian’s core stability and postural control, the team of Gernot Pichler integrated Microgate Witty SEM sensors in combination with a dynamic high table to the training. The various available tests and customisable trainings of Witty SEM turned out to boost Florian’s motivation and perseverance. Now, Florian is able to keep upright for more than 40 minutes at once!
We are very much looking forward to sharing further insights to Florian’s therapy!
